After 28 years of owning my wagon , first as my daily driver, then the tow wagon for my GSX and lastly, my 1/4 mile champ , it's going to a new owner in DENMARK . The pictures below show the wagon in its home for the last 2 years , the Sean Ryder loading it on his trailer, pulling out of my son drive and heading up to New Jersey. It should surprise many racers over there as its getting another Big Block Buick motor . My 494 monster motor will be installed in my son's 70 White GSX clone that has not seen track time in 10 years . I wish the new owner the best and lots of seat time 1/4 mile at a time !!!!! Bill PS In the 3rd and 4th pic, you can barely see my new project in my garage , a 1955 Buick Century 2dr sedan clone model 68 that has stock nailhead engine with 3 x2 's.
The European market is amazing. I recently facilitated a transaction for a 1971 Chrysler 300 to France. Really nice guy.
Congrats on the sale; - I had a 68 Sportwagon in the same colour, and mine truly was the one from hell. It cost me a fortune and never did quite work right, but boy did it love to drink gas...400 BBB that I rebuilt to Stage 1 spec, 3:42 posi with a torqued-out turbo 400. It had a gorgeous interior and A/C, and the wife and I tested the springs at a number of campsites...Delco "pleasurizers" my a$$! Good times...
Shawn, youre right. A guy over here that bought my Sporwagon, and I found a 70 GS for in Kansas, wanted a race car too. What else to suggest than Bills wagon. I sold him a motor too, so it will see a 464 with ported iron heads as a start, but I think it should be good for some high 10s or low 11s.
Jan, when I saw it was going to Denmark, you're the first person to come up in my mind  Good to se more American cars over here :bglasses:
Your a tri-shield kingpin over there Jan!! Careful, we're going to start calling you the Jason Cook of Denmark!! Haha
This is a 1955 buick Century 2 dr clone from new Mexico ,car has NO rust thru anyplace on the car. Up grades added , larger tires , 3 duces and maybe a satin black paint down the road. I like the patina look for the present time. I plan on taking it to the BCA Nats in Allentown the end on july, that should turn some noses up !!!!! Bill
Bill, I heard you sold it and I must say I really hate to see it leave your hands. It was a great ride. Funny thing, I also purchased a 55 post car as well. Mine is a 2 dr Special, 3 speed on the tree with patina paint as well. Good luck my friend.
