Finally made it to Cecil County last night and only got 2 runs before we had problems with convertor bolts. First run was spinning thru 1st and getting out of it at the 1000' mark netted 10.87 @ 95 mph. Second run was 151 60 ft, 10.20 @ 132. I need a taller tire or the rear ( 4.10 ) needs to be changed, tacking high at the quarter. This is the 1st pass in 2 years and it felt great. Hope to head back to cecil one more time before the East Coast Reg meet. Take care
Bill, what an awesome running car! That is excellent news that you got your car running and running well. Looking forward to seeing you and your car at Cecil.
That's great news Bill. Good to see that you and the car are out on the track again! I bet it felt awesome. I love watching that car run - it reminds me of my Estate wagon, except yours is now 2 full seconds faster! From the mph, it is certainly making more power. And as with any change, now begins the tuning part again to get as much as you can from the combo. I cannot seem to crack the 10 sec. barrier - at the track last night it was another 11.08. I seem stuck in the 11.0's. Anyway, glad to see the car is running well and looking forward to seeing you (and picking your brain a little) at Cecil. Good luck!
That's your fastest MPH, right Bill? I was over by your place yesterday PM around 5 pm.....on the water. I sold my boat to someone right up the creek there where the clubhouse is (on the water). You were up at Cecil by then I suppose..... Good luck and see you at Cecil. Bruce
Bill, glad your luckis improving That's cool you have the wagon going again :beer now hopefully my luckwill get better with my racecar Regal ou:
Way to go Bill glad to hear you got a couple of runs in. Atco will have some real good air this Fall. We have to get a photo op. of the two wagons staged side by side. Just tooooo :bglasses:
Congratulations! Bill great to hear that wagon is back and terrorizing the strips again. Looking forward to seeing it run once again. Next time you are coming up this neck of the woods, give me a shout if you need anything. :TU:
Thanks for all the good wishes. i didn't intend to run it thru on the second pass, but I was matched with a tubbed Vega. The lights can down and I jumped him even with an easy takeoff. I was infront of him by 1/2 car and he was pulling slowly on me so I stayed in it . He was shaking his head as he went by. He ran 9.89 to my 10.20 . Thats what makes an old man and him wagon happy!!!
Well, they were loose, really loose! the one bolt was missing the nut and the other 2 bolts had the nuts but not by much. I thought I had locknuts on them but I guess not . This could have been a major problem, but my son said "something is rattling really bad "when I turned the engine off. I can look back and say" What if" or "If I would have" etc, etc, etc, . You learn and move on.
John, Yep, thats it.The time was run with the 464 combo not the 494. Hope to get more weight transfer so it will hook.
Bill - GREAT News !! Its been too long that any of us have gotten to watch you and your AWSOME car travel the 1320 - cant wait to see it in Cecil in a few weeks :beer
I'll try to take a couple of shoots when I get the wagon out of the trailor tomorrow. I will need to Email the pictures to someone so they can post them for me .I have MOM duty this weekend , 94 years old and will be taking care of her until 12 noon on Sunday.
