oops... just seen Ergot's post... I think it is the episode that is on right now... twin super-charged...
Sweet Ride!!! A couple (dumb) questions: is that a real "X" and is that gentleman a board member?? It's pretty cool seeing a Buick on TV, isn't it?
That was an impressive ride. They said that the setup can be bought but I can't remember from who. What I like most was that it ran on pump gas with the 8.5 to 1 compression and can be street driven with 850 hp under or should I say sticking out of the hood. They also did an excellent job in keeping most of the stock interior in place.
Sweet ride, but with a wrong hood. It showed a '72 hood emblem on it, but that wouldn't stop me from taking it.
That GSX uses twin Whipplecharger superchargers-Jim Bell from Kenne-Bell was the man behind this project. The Whipplecharger supercharger is a positive displacement design and uses unique shaped blades that deliver more boost than a typical Rootes supercharger.
I agree he shouldn't have cut up a GS hood, it just looked out of place with seeing so many of those emblems on the 72's.
I believe that the car now uses a naturally aspirated engine and was at the Nats this year. I don't know the guys name, but they were having motor problems and it couldn't race. They had the complete motor pulled out of the car and were bringing it back to California I believe. I think it was a GS heads up class car. I don't remember where I heard this information from but thats what I heard.
Pictures taken off www.gsxcitement.com. This guy takes real nice pictures of the cars at the Nationals and takes a lot of them too, probably around 1000 shots. I think he is a board member GS Nationals Photos by Lance Marlette GSCA #24
