The speedo cable on my '70 Riv. snapped, I was wondering where/if I could get a new one, or if I'd have to get one off another car. I have a parts car, but at the moment it is in Florida, and I'm in Chicago and am not sure when I will be able to get it here. Any information would be appreciated, Thanks.

if it had cruise it has 2 piece to the cable, one before the module and one after if I remember right from the cruise I pulled from a smashed 70 Riv GS. Which cable broke?

I dropped the trans and it was wrapped around the trans and snapped, so im going to say after the module.

thats a short section, all GM use the same drive mechanism so I'd pull it measure the length and go to a yard and start looking at G-bodies (78-88) and other cars of that era for a simular length one. That cruise control design lasted into the 80s.

Speedometer cable for 70 9000 series with cruise:

    Lower cable = 6452159 (52 1/8")

    Upper cable = 6477881 ( 37 59/64")

If you can use a cable w/o cruise to get you back home

    Chicago Auto at 1-888-771-8812

and ask for either #6480231 or #25032643.
