WOW. That's hot. 52,000. YIKES! Those wildcat heads are supposed to be hot stuff. It looks like the dist is belt driven or something... It's pretty.
probably also the wildcat 5.0 block, forged stroker crank, and have you priced out the cost of a custom sheetmetal intake for an oddball engine? Throw in vacuum pump, twin carbs, what looks to be a reverse flow cooling system and a crank trigger/beltdrive ignition system. Now put it across the pond and I believe the price.
The engine puts out a claimed 600Hp on the carbs. Doing a bit of conversion. 52,000 Pounds UK = $102,193.90 US. That's a LOT of coin! I can get a built LS7 and a new Corvette to go with it at that price... and have change left over. Ahh... well..... Greg
I can't get to eBay at work so I didn't see the parts list till now. Take into account that most things cost the same in numbers in the UK but the exchange rate makes things almost twice as expensive and that sounds like a full breed race motor costs, its at much less now with no BIN so maybe it will be reasonable. I'd just like to be able to get the Wildcat cranks here, we have good blocks and not bad heads for these motors.
Yeah but you can get the same output for considerably less couldn't yoiu?? What would be the benefit of paying for a small single family home to have 600 horses?? Couldnt you get 600 horses from a SBB for under 3 grand ?? o No: BTW that is a very pretty engine.. I've never seen anything like that b4 :TU:
Yeah, 600HP? B.F.D. !!! Who here couldn't make more power than that for a whole lot less than that thing will sell for?
0 to 177 in 7.68 seconds and 0 to 146 in 4.88 seconds (1/8 mile) call me crazy, but doesn't "short of 600 Horsepower" sound a little lowball for those kinds of numbers? i mean, what's he running this in, a <1000lb car? on an unrelated note; just how 'well' is the metric system folded into daily life in the UK? this isn't the first time i've heard or seen things were they seem to be using mph and even fahrenheit on a regular basis.
What REALLY gets me is if these parts were manufactured over here, it wouldn't be one tenth the cost. Look what they've got over there! Aluminum block with 4" bores, alumimum big valve and port heads, billet stroker cranks. All of this stuff for a Buick/Rover small block. Look what we've got... an aluminum intake.... that's it... It ain't fair I tell ya.... Weren't we the ones that INVENTED this stuff? Greg
in the UK the speed limits read in MPH not KmPH that's what i was thinking. i know i've seen video on one of those 'Crazy Cop Chases' shows from England and the camera was stamping the vid with MPH. but you never know how many years old the recording is. i'm pretty sure i've seen vid clips of weathercasts from over there and they're quoting temps in *F as well. o No:
Somebody ask about stroker cranks? http://www.chevroletls1.com/rover_v8.html Current conversion rate from UK Pounds to US Dollars is around 2:1. Not very good at all... Greg
I was over there in 2004 and they're still doing the Mph thing.. gotta love the imperial system of measurement :TU:
talk about gettin ya crank stroked How they say it over there? This wankah is a bloody shankfest!!! ou: I'm sure some wealthy pedigreed knucklehead will end up buying it. Maybe Someone in the Royal House of Windsor.
