Why did you purge your pictures? I went in the WAY-BACK machine to reference the power locks on the green machine and it ain't there no more :spank: Remember, the "March Madness" thread? Is that garage (warehouse) of yours getting so full you need to reclaim bandwidth too? Has the Nagel-Skunkworks gone completely underground on us? Rick
Man, you caught me... Thought I would save some bandwidth and purge some stuff from the way back files. What are you looking for? I have door panels from the "Pea" (green convert) and a pair from a KC car that has the actuators in a different place. Ted
In different places? I wanted to see where they were "supposed" to be. Can you either post a pic of each ray: or email them. I still have your email handy and I could zip you my email address if that's easier. Rick
Rare option, they made very few of the vacuum lock cars in KC. I think the standard would be the "Flint" cars. Basically the Flint ones are in front of the diagonal metal and the KC car was behind the diagonal trim on the custom door panels. I'll post pictures when I get a chance. Cheers,Ted
Did they cut a part of the doors to leave space the switches? My former 1968 Wildcat 4 door had vacuum door locks and there was a 3"x3" square section of the inner doors cut to leave space for part of the switches (same as 1965) that extended behind the door panel. I was wondering if these were done at the factory.
Here they are side by side. The top one is from a flint built car, second example is from a KC car. Both cars door panels had a cut out- but it does not line up with the switch!!"??? anyway, you can see where the cut was made.
Thanks Ted! Which position do you guys think looks better? I'm thinkin' on the rear side of the metal piece. Rick
Oh Great and Wonderful Grand PooBah , I have to agree with you. The one with it behind the trim looks cool Don
I'd put it even farther forward unless you are concerned with being factory correct. Though it looks like they left it up to the line worker's judgement. Seems to me the farther back that switch is the more awkward it would be to reach. To be honest, my first reaction was "Why the heck would the KC plant put it way back there?" o No:
