For me at least. I fabbed up a tunnel contoured speaker box, fits nice and tight, put spring clips on the wires so it's easy to pop off and put in the trunk. It leaves plenty of foot room for rear passengers (don't know when I'll ever worry about that). Solves the problem of where to put rear speakers in a ragtop.
Do you have dimensions of the box? I might want to do this... These freakin convertibles are short on speaker space!!
JL Audio makes a product called the "Stealthbox". These are fiberglass enclosures that hide a 10" subwoofer in a console. I'm looking into fitting one of these in my console. You lose space in the storage tray, but it places the sub right in the middle of the car. And it's hidden. My car has a column shift so I'm looking at different consoles. The one from a Ford F150 looks about the right size. I'm planning to hide to 6.5" speakers in the rear armrests by covering the entire vertical portion with speaker cloth. If there's not enought depth I might build something like this. Thanks for the clever idea! John
