    There's a couple schools of thought -

How does your motor differ than stock?

    If stock...
    - Champion RV17YC
    - NGK UR-4 (I just purchased these and will be installing them this weekend)

    Gap at .035''

If not stock, whatcha got :Brow:

PS - no need to make them too tight, and make sure the threads are clean when you install the new plugs.

Put them in finger tight, then tighten 1/16 of a turn, that's it. They are tapered seat plugs, it doesn't take much.

.035 it better then stock .040 gap ??

No use the .040 gap. The 72 points distributor fired that gap

    Hi -

Please tell us more about your ignition system.

Stock gap for a 70 455 is 30/1000. They may have changed it later with HEI and so forth I do not know. Torque is 15 ft ib.

.045 is a safe gap then.
