Here is a spare tire hold down threaded rod, etc...

    >Threaded rod is new condition - length is just under 10" (see pic)

    >Screw-on "cap" is for rod and meant to hold a spare tire board in place - nice used but had some pitting down inside the "cone". Part got beadblasted clean, pitting filled, etc to smooth out and painted

    >Original rubber sleeve to hold the tire tool to the jack shaft (not a repro)

NOTE: I also have some other threaded Buick spare tire rods in shorter lengths in case you want to substitute in one of them (some 8-7/8", some 9-1/8" - all dark phosphate plated in super nice condition). I can post more pics as needed.

$45 + shipping. Post interest here and PM w/your FULL ADDRESS for a shipping cost and payment options.

Interested but how do I find out what length rod I need since I do not have a spare now?

I (we'll) have to do some research on the board here and/or I'll ask someone w/a '70 GS (w/Rally wheels) and see what I can figure.

For a G60-15" factory tire set up a 10" threaded rod/hook is used.....that's what I show in my posting.

Also - as mentioned above, I have super nice shorter threaded rods.

What about a 14 inch steelie stock rim, do you have or know what that length should be? Thanks

tubecat - I don't know....if you have that rim w/the appropriate tire on it, it seems like you should be able to lay it in position in the trunk and make a measurement or two to determine what length you need. Use a straight piece of wire (coat hanger) running through whatever hole in the wheel these should go (lugnut hole? center cap hole?).

As mentioned above - the shorter ones I have are 8-7/8" to 9-1/8"....they all came from Buick Abody cars I believe.

So far I have 2.5 as up first and then tubecat or Dano (Dano gave clear expression of interest)...you guys can figure that out.

I am interested, my father passed this week and my mother got admitted to the hospital and haven't been home. I'll measure later but by all means if you're in that much of a hurry, don't wait for me.

I just got home and measured. To the top of the spare tire board/cover is about 9.5 inches with a 14 steelie rim. I would be interested in the shorter hook since the hold down is recessed and and below the 9.5 inches. If Dano wants the longer rod and hold down, that's fine. Would you sell just the shorter J hook? Or I'll take the shorter j-hook and hold down if Dano passes.

I believe Dano will be taking the long hook, the "cone" nut (holds down the spare tire board), the rubber sleeve and one of the 9-something inch hooks I have. PM replied to Dano.

tubecatgs - Yes, I can sell just a 9-1/8 or 9-1/4" hook on its own. PM w/your complete shipping address and I can figure out a total.

    Thanks
