I just got my 67 on the road after a complete restoration. I'm slowly working bugs out. Here's one to ponder. When I take my foot off the throttle to idle position at speed, say 40MPH, my transmission seems to disengage and free wheels. When I give it some throttle it engages again. This can't be right! What do I need to check for this "problem". The transmission shifts just fine and otherwise operates properly. Thanks! Harvey
I'm guessing it's an issue with the front (intermediate) band or circuit. Could be as assembly issue, worn band, stuck/leaking servo or accumulator. Has this thing been apart recently? Devon
Kick down Have you checked the kick down circuit? See if the switch is sticking, or just pull the wire at the case. It could be inside the trans, but, check the easy stuff first. Jim
Hi, The trans was rebuilt by a very knowledgeable individual. It has about 10 miles on it. It had a shift kit installed, other than that it is basically stock. I think I will start by disconnecting the wire from switch on the throttle rod to see if that helps. I understand that controls the vanes on the converter. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks Harvey
