Looking for correct GM hoses/belts/etc for my LeSabre. Online searching comes up with a lot of '70 and earlier full-size stuff or A-body stuff...would like to use GM stuff instead of parts-house stuff if possible. Vehicle is a weekend cruiser and will start restoring soon... Also, is $350 apiece too much for fenders for this car?
Unfortunately, there really isn't much difference between AC Delco and Brand X when it comes to replacement parts. I had the same idea when I redid the front end on my Riv. I ordered AC Delco and most boxes said "Made in China". That being said, you might as well go to a NAPA and buy your parts as the quality they carry is generally good. Good Luck!
Depends.....sounds a little high but if they are 100% rust and dent free, it might be worth it vs buying something for $150 that has a little rust and needs repaired. I'd think $200-$250 would be more average but again, if you can't find anything else......
You want to try and find non cogged belts if you can. They look orignal. All the major brands are cogged.
Would be nice to be able to buy an upper hose for the 455 that is shaped correctly. What's on the market could be better. At least I'm not aware of one out there.
Dale, what hose and what car do you need a 455 hose for? Except for the 70-71 Style upper for GS 455 I believe the aftermarket are the same shape. I lucked out and found some NOS correct shape for 71 but if you need 72 I beleive the Gates hose is the same shape that goes over the fan shroud through the strap.
I have what is supposed to be NOS for 73 and up 455 and it has an extra bend in it. I have seen them on a 73 GS not sure if it fits the big car but it is supposed ot be for 71 and 72 also by the GM parts book. I'll get a pic posted
It's been a while since I bought it, but what was listed for my '70 Riv runs very close to the fan, and touches the shroud. The old one didn't run that close. I figure there is one aftermarket hose made for all years and models of Buicks with the 455. One size to fit all.
