    I saw where Accel is now offering a new GM HEI distributor cap;

    That's a GREAT idea for HEI guys, but what about us small-body points-type distributor guys? Where can I get me one?

    When I was building street rods etc back in the 80's/90's someone did make that cap. I just don't remmember who.:Do No: I know as I used quite a few. I'll try to find out but I threw away my old catalogs in the move 11 years ago.
    (I would check Street Rodder mag or simular mags.)

    Both Cross Fire and Moroso used to make them, may still. They are junk, from personal experience.

    The seller says it has heavy internal leads, so I'm ordering one - and will post some pics when it arrives.

    It arrived today;

    The inside looks like there are about 1/8" diameter leads running through a black epoxy potting material to re-route the contacts. Note that the instructions say that a perfect front-back order isn't possible, so each side's wires are 2,4,8,6 and 1,3,7,5; with the 8,6 and 7,5 wires will need to cross somewhere along the way - which seems easy enough to do right before the plugs. Comparing it to my existing cap, it's a direct match and fits snugly on the distributor.
