Remember the commercial... I remember the commercial where the spokesperson said, "But don't take my word for it". Which is a really nice way of saying,"Go shove one up your a$$!!" uzzled:
No no no. I just had to deal with pleanty of assholes all day. This would be just the thing to clear up the situation. Shooting people is so impersonal. Have we lost touch so much with our roots? If I was going to kill them, I'd do it slowly, with my bare hands, to feel their lives crushed beneath my very fingers. Killing them with a weapon of any sort would be like sending them a fuitcake for the holidays: it fulfills the requirement, but the sentiment's not really there. I have more respect for them than that.
Chris, did we miss our therapy session?uzzled:  :af: at the local watering hole?:beer :beer :beer Just had a blast at our meeting this afternoon with the boss. He wanted to know why we were over budget last quarter by $542K. I told him, "I don't know I don't make the budget. Why don't you ask that idiot?" Boy did he NOT like that answer! Turns out that the bean counter that he is decides the maintenance budget. Talk about the wolves guarding the hen house!!:af: :af: :af: :af: uzzled:
LOL! That reminds me of the last company meeting I was at, last spring. At the shop I used to run , the engineers would submit work requests to me, and if they didn't know the correct parameters for the part, they would fill in the blank space for that parameter, "TBD" on the paperwork, which means: "To Be Determined", which translated, meant, "Chris will figure it out".:af: Like I'M the engineer, right? So I'd tell them, look I don't know what you need for this part, you have to give me something here, and they would say "just make it work" Gee, I want THAT job- I can tell people to just make it work. But I'm responsible for this stuff, or I used to be, so I'd do what I could...at the Company meeting, the subject of some rejected parts came up, and they came from my shop. I explained that I was doing the best I could, given that I had no guidelines for making a quality part, I had to use a best guess on an R+D project, and well, now we know what NOT to do, but I'm not taking responsibility for the failure, talk to the engineer who can't be bothered to give me the right numbers. And the President said "But it came from your shop. When are we gonna get the re-makes?" I said "You'll have to talk to my boss about scheduling; I don't make the deadlines and I can't put other projects on hold." To which he said, "I'm asking YOU". So I said, "Oh, I don't know, put me down for a TBD" :moonu:
My boss once asked me "what do you think?" I replied that "I don't get paid to think" No more dumb questions.
