    Hi everyone. I recently put a 71 350 into my 65 lark. It's got the th350 tranny.
...so i get everything hooked up, timed right, checked tranny fluid level...cool.

put it in gear, get on gas, start moving slowly.. and i feel this bump, as if the drive axle's hitting the transmission tunnel. so i jack up the rear end. rotate the rear wheels. visually, nothing's hitting, but i do notice that the bump is coming from inside the tranny....any idea of what could be going on?

..btw...i checked the flywheel and the bolts torqued to the torque converter.
i'm counting out both of those components because of when i jacked up the car put it in neutral, the bumping still happened without those components rotating....

any help would greatly be appreciated..!!!

Did you make sure sure you seated the torque converter into the tranny grooves?

Hi JUSTALARK...i dont remember double checking the t.c...i never took it out or off the input shaft when i removed the original motor from the car..nor did i check to push it back onto the shaft "just incase it moved" before installing the new motor.
however, when i bolted the flywheel to the converter, there wasnt excessive spacing between the two parts, it simply bolted up as if it was in correct position.
