    436'd Skylark Sweet Fancy Moses!!!!!

Just for fun, I tried to calculate my compression ratio. I may have fudged it a bit though :Do No: heres what I got

Heads- 1231109, never surfaced 69cc=3.00 Ci
    Head gasket- 4.5x.040 = .636 ci
Deck height (guestimate :Do No: ) .065x4.2175= .906Ci
    Dish-3.5x.090= .866ci
    cylinder volume (430 .030) 54.48ci

    Volume @TDC- 5.408 cubes
    CV+HG+DH+D=TDC
    (ChamberVolume+head gasket+deck height+Dish=TDC)
    3.00+.636+.906+.866=5.408

    Volume @BDC- 59.88 cubes
    Cylinder volume+ TDC volume=59.88

    59.88/5.408=11.07???

is this right??? I kinda doubt it.....

I did this all with the assumption that the volume of a cylinder= pixR2xh
I'm not sure on that equation though. Someone please help me!!!:ball:
    thanks

If your pistons have a 25 cc dish and are .065 in the hole, then I come up with 10.45 on Desktop Dyno with a 69 cc head and .040 thick gasket. This is on a 455 engine bored .030.

    Negative. I get 9.23:1 . The combustion cc's are where you're off. There are 16.39 cc per ci. So the heads are 4.21 ci. That gives a total of 6.62 ci unswept. Swept plus unswept is 54.48 + 6.62 = 61.1 . Then 61.1/6.62 = 9.23 .

Right right right..... Well that clears it up. If Only I knew what my deck height really is. Anyone hve any ballpark figures? So much for my 10.0:1 pistons:Dou:

well if you had the factory steel shim gasket you would be alot closer to the piston rated CR
