Just listed a few things. I'll be listing more as I dig through my stash... http://motors.shop.ebay.com/hogghunter61/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=50&_sop=1
Mike, I bought them at the GS Nationals years ago. The seller said they came from a GS. Don't know the year. Donny
68s look like to me...they where an option on 68s and are unique in appearance..ive had a few 68 pontiacs. with head rests...
So the headrest from 68 are not the same as for 72 (per Marxjunk comment)? Do you need to rewrite the decription?
I have two other pairs that I took from '69-'72 Buicks and these are the same. What do you see that's different than the black pair I have listed in the parts for sale section? http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=196300
1969-1972 headrests did NOT come with cinder block supports; that was a 1968-only design that fell victim to improved safety standards. -- Steve
the notches are cut different and spaced different in 68,the latch assy is different, and the notches on the metal bars is different. they seam looks fuller to me, the seam is fuller on 68 too...from the pic it looks like 68s to me ..its just an opinion...side by side the difference stands out between 68 and 69 up......but hey,i could be wrong, and ive been wrong before and ill be wrong again... Ive had 3 or 4 grand prix 68 seats, all had head rests and recliners...and the head rest where physically different side by side....isnt 68 interiors white and 69 up pearl?
What are cinder block supports I have a photo of a '68 head rest I will post soon, those do not look like '68 style or else I would be bidding:laugh:
Okay, so you got my curiosity up. I went to my shop building and pulled out three more sets of headrests. The white pair on the left are the ones on Ebay that you say look like '68s, the white one to the right is from a pair from my '72 Suncoupe, the black one to the right is from a pair I took from a '70 GS and the brown one on the end is from a '71 GS. Other than the color, all are identical. So no, these are not '68 only headrests. They are correct '69-'72, as advertised.
ok,it got my curiosity up too, and since i opend my mouth, i checked , for 68 the lock notches are cut on the back, 69 up the locks are cut on the side, the vinyl stuff looks very close, so unless you pulled a set out or had them in your hand it would be hard to tell....so looking at pics i was wrong, its the lock notches...my bad...
I would be interested in a pair with really nice bottom pieces -- mine are less than perfect. The headrests themselves honestly aren't as important. You get my PM? -- Steve
