I am thinking about switching from my SP4 cam to a solid cam. I have heard a few people talking about TA's 308s. I am looking for some input. Thanks Rob Here are a few specs of current combo. Stage 1 TE heads 11.5 :1 compression 9" 4000 Coan convertor 4.11 rear HP 950 carb
Rob, you have an identical combo that I'm putting together except SE's instead of TE's. I inquired about this topic awhile back. Here's the post. I'll be running the 308s but will be interested in all responses, especially what to degree the cam at for optimum performance at 11.0:1. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43490&highlight=lunati+sp4
No. I'm still collecting parts. The car is in primer and 'edged' in. The front end's apart right now redoing the brakes and steering linkage. The rear axle is next. I'm glad that I'm taking my time on the motor. I'm learning more that way. I think I'll have it much more refined when I start putting it together. I've also noticed that I have been finding great deals on parts thru this forum and ebay while I'm waiting, saving lots of money that I can spend on head porting later. When this one goes together, I have a 494 kit to get started on also, or I may sell that stuff and go for the new PAE block.
Rob, Our next motor will use the 308s. Similar combo to yours ~11:1, etc. Should be together by next week. Are you in CMDR? Come on up to Oxford Dragway Maine and visit with the headless chickens!
