Wow. I never knew that a seat covers and an alternator cost over $5000 to fix. Here is the responses from the owner and the link to the ad.

[FONT=times new roman, new york, times, serif]"This car has no body damage, a fresh paint job with no rust at all. There is a little damage to the front seat, of which I am going to get both of the front seats done next week. The interior is forest green leather. the alternator is being rebuilt now, and that is all that is wrong with the car. I was going to sell it like it is for 5500, but I am just going to get the seat redone, and have the alternator put back on and I will be selling it for no less than 9000! This car is worth a lot of money, and i was gong to sell it as is for a nice deal but I might as well get my moneys worth!"

"Thank you for the response. Thank you for being honest about your expectations of the car. If the car is in good shape with only surface rust in the floor pan, trunk pan, frame and body I may still be interested. I would need to see pictures of the inner passenger side fender and radiator core support in that area. Because of the vinyl top, I would like pictures from behind the rear seat and from the Trunk side. Quite often rust forms between the rear window and trunk lid under the top. I would need pictures of the frame and floor pan. Also I would need detailed pictures of the body panels.

I don't mind you changing the price to $9000, but my expectations of the car have went up."

I will be putting up some more pictures on Monday or tuesday. I am going to get the seat done in the next two weeks if i haven't sold the car by then and the price will go up to around $11,500. That is why I was going to let it go as is for cheap because I didn't feel like taking the time do do these minor repairs, but since I have to do them anyway, I may as well charge what the car is worth! I paid a total of seven thousand for the car originally and put a $3,500 paint job on it and have just been letting it sit under a tarp for the past four years. The alternator is done, I just haven't gone to pick it up yet. Haven't had the time really!

I wish he wouldn't have painted it mint green.:spank:

If this car is in Muncie. I know the owner, the car was dark green at the time I drove it he wanted 7k 7yrs ago when I lived there. It was leaking oil bad just sat in the same place for quite awhile. I remember the car because it had a 72 rear bumper like this one. I bet it is the same car.

It must have been the glue he was sniffing when he fixed those oil leaks that got him...

    He's outta his mind!

Reminds me of a local guy here. He's got a 69 Skylark convertible. He's had it for sale for months for $15.5k. It hasnt sold so he upped the price to $17.5k. I guess if it still doesnt sell, it'll be 20k soon:Dou:

makes me think of a 70 gs that sat around here as long as i can remember. The thing was a rust bucket, but every time we asked the owner (a little old lady) if she was interested in selling it she'd reply "well its a discontinued model, so i can't take less than 20,000." If thats the case, i geuss i'll start picking up some pontiacs.... those should be worth a fortune by her logic...

I would like a 4spd car, but I just have a had time dealing with an idiot. You can not believe a word they say and I am not going to drive to Indianapolis to meet this guy. I would have gave him the $5500 for it if it was in half way decent shape.
