So...how did you come up with your V8 Buick handle?

My first name is Horace. Years ago when I used to drag race, many of my friends would call me Ho-Racer. It was finally shortened to Ho Race, then the Ho was dropped. So, I decided I liked to be called Race, ever since I have been called Race.
By the way, I checked a name dictionary and it said that Race is a correct diminutive for Horace. Sorta' like Jim for James and Bob for Robert. So... there you have it. And for more than half my life about 40 years I've been Race Lutz.

Being called 'Race' is much better than being call 'Ho'.

I drove a 55 Pontiac in high school with three on the tree. Surprised a few by dropping into first at a roll. I also worked my way thr college driving a wrecker. Back in the early 60s all our trucks were stick. When you had a heavy load or in sand sometimes it was necessary to drop back to unsynronized low gear.

    Serious answer.

Back when I was in college I read the book the Machinist's Bedside Reader by Guy Lautard. There were a few short stories in the book and they were all based on machinists or gunsmiths. One of the stories was about a guy that moved to a farm in the country, and soon found he needed a gun for getting rid of annoying critters around the place. It wasn't long before he had several guns each with it's own purpose, and a few project guns that were in different stages of repair. When his wife asked him about them, his reply was he only needed one maybe two more. He called himself a gun crank.

I go by Gun_Crank on a different forum, and I didn't want to use the same screen name, so I tried to come up with something that would work with _Crank. I thought Short was kind of funny, and I really try not to be too serious on the internet. I also didn't want to be known as the gun guy here, because I really don't have that many, and I only need a couple more.

ClarkDark was the name I started using as a DeeJay back in the 80s at Charleston AFB. ClarkDark aka "the Black Superman". I added Sr in '84 when Jr was born. ClarkDarkSr is also my Playstation username.

I first learned how to drive in my parents '75 Buick Electra 225 and love the power of Buick ever since. I bought my 1st and only Buick 20 years ago. It's a 1966 Buick Skylark which is currently getting repainted and having Vintage Air and a center console installed.

Childhood nickname was Cub, my mom was a fan of the tv show the mickey mouse club and there was a boy on there with the same nickname. She must have had a crush on him as a teen. My HS friends still call me by that, most do not know my real first name.
