snorkel air cleaner restoration

    I am restoring a snorkel air cleaner for our 72 350/4. Can anybody tell me what the proper color to paint it would be?

    I painted this one low gloss black but there's some debate as to the proper color....

    I've actually done two that color and I've been happy with how they came out. There's a couple more here that I have yet to sandblast and I think those will be painted semi-gloss....

    I was REALLY happy with the way THIS one came out, as you can see by the final price....

    Another vote for full gloss. Years ago the conventional wisdom was that they were a low gloss, but I believe that has been proven to be false. Every original I have had has been gloss.

    source for the correct seal?

    how about a source for the correct seal that sits in the groove of the lid?

    some solo pics

    I will post some pics this week for this thread. It turned out pretty good, I still prefer the chrome lid, and I am thinking about getting one :TU:
