small block decode help 215 or 300? Not sure..

    Hello everyone I found an engine in a 72 skylark that doesn't belong in it.. It looks like a 215 v8 only it is cast iron.. It has the alluminum heads and aluminum intake.. The carb is the older style rochester...
    block is B1357943 date B 19
    intake 1359122V date@20@
    exhaust man.. 81364178 and 8-125888-8
    any help would be appriciated..

    Sounds like the al head version of the 64 300 cid Buick.

    Sounds like Jim is right on,if it was a 215 it would be an all alumunim block I believe and the 64 300 had the aluminum heads,manifold and the cast iron block.Does it have a aluminum block if so its a 215?

    It is definately a cast Iron block.. Does anyone know where I can some help on the cast numbers?? Randy
