My dad raced 1/24 scale slot cars when I was a kid. Thought the days of going to the track were long gone. I finally found a nice track in Indiana and I now travel over there with my boys. We've gone the drag racing route.
My boys have always run R/C and like the Lexan bodies but I'm not a big fan of them (cars were not meant to be painted and detailed from the inside :Dou: ) but they are light. More of a fan of the hard bodies.
Anyway, does anyone know of a good source for Lexan or resin bodies? I've tried Parma and a few others but not finding much. Any ideas?
    Thanks

Im a big fan of old school slot car racing. Although I enjoy the big road race tracks. Most of the drag cars Ive seen are made from 1/24th scale plastic model bodies. Here are a couple of retro style stockers I built. The running gear is all modern. Chassis is a Pro-Track front engine/rear drive. The plastic mag wheels from the model kits fit inside the aluminum slot car wheels. Gives the slot cars a real vintage look.

i got a friend of mine that pulling some good looking bodies, ill get his email address next time i see him. by the way, i dont know when it will be done but i got him to work on making an 1/24 scale 88 regal lexan body. other than that toytech, slick 7, and drs is all that i can think of.
i myself, can do lexan, but i much rather perfer models. ive raked, wingged, custom decaled, outlaw hooded, hood scooped, pro stocked, and outlawed. ive got a fine collection of buicks too,68 rivera,70 gsx, a few regals,an outlaw nascar, and a 87 regal carhauler, and in the works a 92 roadmaster wagon and a 95 riviera. excuse me but i have to go get a digital camera!
    heres a few pics i dug up,enjoy

I know this suggestion probably won't be too popular with some of the board members here, but "evilbay" (as they like to call it) has alot of old slot car stuff available. I used to run 1/32 scale strombecker road race stuff myself.
Good luck with the cars, and don't let the boys get the better of you. Remember, age and guile will overcome youth and enthusiasm every time!
