ok, so it works TOO well... factory clock with original workings, cleaned and lubed before I got it - looks GREAT - but over an hour fast and counting at this writing... Is there any adjustment that can be made without taking it all apart :eek2: ?

Since a conversion isn't high on my priority list, I'd just as soon throw a cheap quartz watch in the glovebox if there isn't...

Way back in the old days of wind up watches and clocks, you would reset the speed by either winding backwards or forwards. Try winding it backwards and see if that helps.

    I agree with Tom.
However, 1 hour per day is a lot.
I have the same problem on my 68 Riv, and are not able to compensate that much without taking out the clock and adjust it "manually" on a bench. Later you can fine adjust it by the knob when reinstalled in the car.
As fare as I remember, each time you adust it it will slow or fasten 10 sec per hour.
