Hey I just wanted to know if anyone knows anything about Rod Hendrickson and his 8 second Buick Skyhawk. If anyone was at the 2003 Nats and was watching the Super 16 races, they'll know what I'm talking about. The blower belt blew off and pieces of it went all over the track. I just wanted to know if it is up and running and if it'll be at the 2004 Nats. Thanks Steve
Well, it was running at the B-O-P weekend at Great Lakes Speedway, Union Grove, WI back in June. I think Rod has it apart regularly. Great little car!   ShariB
Thats good to know. Ever since I saw that car run I have been interested in Skyhawks. They're way better than Monza's! Steve
Yeah Steve, Rod's a good guy and I'm glad to hear he got his car back together. Take it easy! PS- can I be on your list of big block guys? :ball:
UP DATE Hey Steve- I know this is kind of late to reply to a thread written in August, but I noticed that you are pretty interested in Rod's car. Last year at BG the balancer flew apart and slung the blower belt, other than that everything else is fine. The balancer was the death of us last year. Rod has got it together this year. Atleast that part, we'll see about the rest all in good time. We took the car to a dyno shoot out with the Chicago capter in April. 1st pull Rod got a 879 spinning the tires, we don't know what the 2nd pull was because the tires hooked and locked up the computer. Took the car to the track the next weekend and found our new problem. We are having trouble with the trans. We think we might have it figured out, we'll find out this coming weekend when we go to the track. We want to test it out before we make the long haul to BG. Rod did a few mods to the motor over the winter, it should catch your eye. I don't want to get our hopes up, but I don't see a problem with clipping off a 7 something this year. :3gears:
will you guys be at greatlakes saturday? Chigago GS club guy Perry Carlini is putting a call out for Buicks to show up with them. They are just gonna T&T but it should be fun. We have a thing that day so we cant go.:ball: B&D
I'll have to run that by Rod. I think we were just going to run out to Byron. He might be up for it though.
Nothing wrong with the late reply, any reply is good. Glad to hear that the car will be at Bowling Green, I will be there in the pits looking at it. Thanks for the information, see you guys in BG!
