    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me whats wrong here, but first I'll go through the story so far.

I have a 67 Buick Wildcat with a tilt wheel and without cornering lights.

A couple of weeks ago my turn signal indicator lights started to flash quickly, so I changed the flasher. That didn't fix anything. The signals lights still flashed quickly, and sometimes not at all, but everything still seemed to work ok. Sometimes when I had the brakes on and the right indicator on, the brake lights would not come on, but the turn signal lights woulds still flash.

I decided to go see if new tail light bulbs would fix anything, so last night I put in 6 new bulbs (1157's) and that totally screwed everything up.

Now, the signal lights still flash quickly, sometimes not at all or sometimes they come on but don't flash.

The instrument panel lights don't turn on when i have the head lamps on. However they do come on when I press on the brake pedal (even with the ignition switch off). When I have the left turn signal indicator on, the instrument panel lights will flash with the signal lights. The right signal does not effect the instrument panel lights.

Headlamps, brake lights and reverse lights seem to be fine.

My brake warning light is dimly lit, but the brakes operate well.

I have ordered a new signal switch because a friend of mine with a 63 chev had a similar problem and that fixed it.

Tonight, I'm going to put the old tail light bulbs back in to see if that changes anything.

Has anyone come across anything like this before?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    Leo
