I'm looking to build my own trunk boards out of something more substantial than the cardboard, more like 1/4" ply or something, and could use some ideas on how to go about trimming my '71 LeSabre's trunk.

I know several folks have made/done their own, but can't find their threads... Smartin? Erik?

Used leftover materials from the int and vinyl top. Glued thin foam over balsa panels and stretched and glued the material to it. The securing framework is made from stuff used in metal framing construction. Snip bend and screw with small sheet metal screws.

Looks nice! I like the idea of padded vinyl.
