Yep the old wagon is a fun street car for sure. The stories seem to get bigger and bigger around town, you would think it was a 10 sec car.. but it is just a nice low 12's car that maybe on a good day I could squeak out a high 11.

I have beaten many cars on the street that are faster at the track with slicks. Hole shot is where it is at.

Looks like your soo close to a 9 with your wagon Bill. You better Yank that stroker motor and sell it to me, so you can build another bigger faster one!! ha ha..

I would really like to build a stroker, maybe some day. Would love to have about 750hp in the wagon.

I too was expecting to see a gn but when i saw the wagon, omg, that is satifaction to take a heavy mo'fo like that and whoop that srt. That really made my night.

Amazing when you beat someone how they have "little problems" theyve been trying to work out and parts on order......blah blah bl.l.l.lahhhhh. shut it, you just got beat.

I LOVE IT!!! Reminded me of one night were it took three runs before the dude I ran in an SRT figured it out. Like you, I didn't bother to go back to hear the excuses! Awesome wagon - great video!

I will give credit where credit is due. I lost to the wagon and yes we did have a vac line failure but a loss is a loss no excuses. however for those who watched the vids you can see at the top of 2nd the rev. lights come on (thats when the 3/8'' vac line off the back of the intake manifold blew off causing loss of boost pressure, no vac pressure to the brake master cyl as well as clutch slave not allowing me to even get the car in gear.. this happened 4 times while trying to get the boost dialed in that night which we thought we had it fixed however it was not the case. Next season we will be lining up again if dennis agrees to it as this was all in friendly speed contest. Dennis has some nasty toys and that is for sure which next spring after the alaskan cold leaves us for a few months hopfully we can get a rematch and maybe some actual track times so we can run our slicks on the car (FWD=wrong wheel drive I KNOW lol.) This was all in fun and I still laugh about it to this day. We do have a few suprises for next season (fully built block and new msd dis-2 with launch control as well as a stand alone to better manage the cars fuel and timing. as well as a good dyno tune as there is only 1 shop in AK that has a dyno and he will not dyno cars anymore) we are shipping the car back to seattle to finish the motor build and dyno tune so next season should be a good one to watch


I have alot of respect for buicks and am one of the few around here who know what they are capable of. I myself recently sold my 64 riviera so I am not your "typical ricer" as if you noticed there was no body kit and random BS that your "typical ricer" will have.. all things on the car are there for a reason and have a purpose.


anyway thanks again for the chance to line up dennis and I look forward to running you next season once we get a good tune and some better tires (we ran blizzak snow tires (low profile) :3gears:

 

Not to detract from the kill or anything but i beat neon srt-4 's with my stock 89 regal all the time off the line.. They lack the torque on the launch....
They catch up sometimes but never in time to take the cake.
Subaru WRx's put up a helluva better fight.. off the line , mid-range and top end..Same with the new eclipse gt-6 & 350z.. Those are fun to Roast..
I roasted a 350z from the line to 127mph on the interstate..
He had 6 gears opposed to my 3 speed auto.. Still couldnt get past me..
Even on the highway with no traffic... :af:
Unless he's really being a pest i don't even bother with imports any longer.
Most of them know they can't beat displacement and just want to see how they compare. Now the new lexus gs350 on the other hand... I took one for a spin last month and was ripping up a hemi powered charger @ 4 stop n go's..
That lexus is totally badass for an import luxury car.. They really hit the mark with that car.. Ya guys gota go test drive one for the fun of it...crazy fast car.. :moonu:

In this case this kid was and a sweet stomp down it was.. I didn't want to seem as if I was detracting from the kill because i wasn't.. I'm just suprised that this kid (being aware of performance cars capabilities) actually thought he could win. Maybe he was just using the "penis swinging" to accumulate the oppertunity of seeing some buick "big balls" .. :Smarty:
I know morons who pick fights with Buick's all the time just to see what they're capable of.. I used to mess with GNX's at any given oppertunity when i had my Gt40 fox body. I would get eaten ofcourse but still had to nag them.. Most would turn their nose up at me.. Literally!!
That's when i new i needed to start buyin Buick..
Never had an old coot with racing stickers and hotchkis suspension in a Regal T-type look at me and laugh giving me a thumbs down b4. Not until this time i ran into one.. He looked over at me cracked a smile and decided to knucklehead me back like i was him.. :spank:
He hit his "intimidator nitrous purge with a blue neon strobe" button he saw how wide my eyes had gotten and laughed .. That was the sexiest slow pull off i've ever seen a Buick regal ever make.. After that i knew the mystique the Buick had over the street racing population was extremely powerful.. Buick carries its own clout unlike any other car capable of inducing whiplash.. and thats what everyone is envious about.. our strong necks !! :beer

 

I beg to differ on that one as SRT's are actually torque monsters compaired to your average 4cyl. they were putting down 245wtq stock these cars are known to put down more torque than HP.. not trying to start a b**** war or anything just giving you a heads up.

as for WRX's here is a run vs a stage 4 in car and out of car vid he launched at 5500rpm with a VF22 turbo and all supporting mods.. this was when the car wasnt having the lovely issues the mopar gods blessed my car with towards the end of summer/fall

This is a great thread, and that was the best entertainment I've had in a long time. :TU: I have to admit "oneslowneon" you're a good sport and there was no trash talkin, just good racin.
I have to admit I always liked the motto..."theres no replacement for displacement" but theres days I wished my X turned and stopped like my wifes 350Z ricerrrr. ou:

as for next season the car will be running 110% better as we will actually be able to dyno tune and run some decent rubbers for the street

 

i understand and agree
They still have immense trouble beating 2 barrel buicks with cruising gears and peg legs.
Comparing any neon to any muscle car is like comparing apples to oranges..
Atleast the neon is american.. :grin:
