:3gears: Hello: I have a '65 Skylark 2dr coupe with no window posts. Can I install stock type shoulder belts or since there is no post is that a problem?
    I would appreciate your input.

    Thank you

u have a 2dr ht . u may be able to install the shoulder harness from the 70-72+ that came stock in these hardtops. u will have to find the proper mount plate in the roof edge if it exists . check out a 70-72 & u can see how they mount .
i never used the old style non-integrated shoulder harness in any car that i owned in that time frame .

I am not sure if the '65 came with the shoulder belt option. I think it only became an option on later models. Like gstewart said, if you have the roof plates under your headliner, then the "old style" shoulder belts that bolt to the ceiling can be used.
I am in the process of putting aftermarket 3-point belts in my '65 GS. There are a number of pages on the web that talk about installing aftermarket belts into vintage cars. Just google 3-point belt installation.
I have changed the hardware on my belts out so I can use the correct chrome "carriage style" buckles and will now be trying to install them so they function in a relatively safe manner.
Hopefully, in a couple of months, I will be posting some pics of the finished installation on v8b.

Thank you for the response on the shoulderbelts. I will look into the headliner suggestion.
