I Have Recently Purchased A 1969 Duece & A Quarter. Its A 2dr, Hardtop. Has A Fair Paint Job And Runs. Interior Is Shot. Rustfree. I Love The Car, But It Needs Work. My Question Is should I... Restore It Back To Its original Form And Try To Get It To Be As Fine As Gm Once Produced Or Should I Customize It -new Era Style-- W/ Flashy Paint And Piped Out Interior, Tv's, Big Wheels ---or should I Not Dare Mess With Perfection? :) IF ANYBODY HAS PICS OF A DUECE AND WANTS TO SHOW ME HOW ITS DONE, I WOULD LOVE IT:3gears:

    Welcome to V8buick!

Bring it back to the original glory, maybe with a few "new" touches like a cd player in the glove box for example, but its your car. Goodluck with it. :TU:

Do what YOU want to do with it.

Get some more performance out of the 430 under the hood and clean it up. Whatever it takes to make you feel good about driving the car.....

    Welcome to the board!!:beer

A 69' two door duece ??????? I would be all over it man, what a KOOL car. I can't remember what they are calling the new ''thing'' like this, but Get the interior done, get a CD player in and some 17/18's on and drive the puppy. Personally I am ''kinda'' looking for like a 67' myself for just such a cause'. One of these days I will find that nice, old lady driven, creampuff so I can get into the big car game too.

    Later....................

Its your car, do what you want to enjoy it. (But please, don't put wagon wheels on it.)

The only problem with "Pimpin my Ride" is once its that far gone from original its probably not coming back. You see them all the time on Ebay and they're not too re-sellable. While that may be the cool thing now, whats it going to be in 10 years ?? I can guarantee you that the original look or a mild Kustom will last for generations .... but as others have said its your car and you're free to do as you please.

    Have fun,,,,,,

I also have a 69 2 door limited, along with a few other Buicks. I would make it driveable, and not worry too much about modernizing it. I know when my car is used regularly, it rides great, handles good, snaps to attention on the throttle, and can get great gas milage for such a big car, when driven conservatively.

Here's something else for you to consider though.

My son and I counted all the 69 Electra 2 doors at the Buick Centenial meet in Flint Michigan back in 2003...( can you imagine, "back in 2003? It feel like yesterday) The final count? ZERO! None! NADA!. There were about 14 or more convertibles, and several 4 doors, but no 2 door 225's. If I can hold onto mine and do it up, it won't be original, but it won't be far from it...
