well like i need anything else going on, my compressor tripped the breaker yesterday.after having it trip 3 times,i saw the smoke escaping from the motor & waifting upwards.my friend of 10 years was dead :( so i drove the 120 mile round trip & got the last one harbor freight had(floor model) :boring: so i want to tie the two tanks together (80 gallon each).i wont be using that much air all at once, but when painting it would be nice to have that extra tank full.can i just pull the hardline from the old one off the dead motor & attach it to the new ones output?i was thinking of using a "T"with a shut off/water trap valve so if i want,i can draw only off the new one, with the old tank as the reserve.obviouslly i dont want to overwork the motor.yes i do bleed the water every couple weeks.sound safe? i know people do this...somehow :TU:

Sure, you can tie two tanks together via a valve or leave wide open. Filling both tanks to 120 gallons is a good idea though really, you motor wouldn't work any harder just longer but then again it would not go on as often as for one tank.
