I just purchased some kick panels with speakers for my GS. I have the burnished saddle interior, and the new kick panels are of course, black. I'd like to paint them to match. Has anyone done this, and if so, what color did you use? I'm looking at this color, seems close, but it is hard to tell. http://www.tcpglobal.com/autobodydepot/ItemDetail.aspx?ItemNo=SEM+15483
http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/ Try these folks, just give them a call. They have a good reputation.
Yes, I was trying to eyeball it using their color chart, http://www.tcpglobal.com/autobodydepot/docs/SEMAerosolChart.pdf I'll call them. Maybe they can make a recommendation. I think that Bluebird Brown looks the closest.
They can pull the color from the PPG books they have (those show up online at "autocolorlibrary").....and mix it in SEM. I'm not talking about a "stock" SEM color. What I mean is they can take the PPG interior refinish colors for your year/model car and mix it in SEM vinyl/plastic paint to that PPG interior code. I recently dealt with a guy named George in their tech/help area....he checked out my options and got me what I needed. There's another guy there that's their "guru" on paint stuff (Jimmy Tips) but he's not very easy to get in touch with there.
SEM has a color match service. I used it and it is a perfect color match for the brown on my arm rest pads. I sent them a piece of material, vinyl, for a sample, they matched it, sent my sample back with the paint quickly. They were very nice and easy to work with. All that and a quart of product was $41. I could have bought much less, any amount I wanted. I think they would put it in an aerosol can if desired. http://www.semproducts.com/ Try them, you will be happy, Mike
Larry call Albert Kemperele 718 639-3100 4623 72 st Flushing ny go there have him mix you a pint of Sem buy a spray bomb pour it in and spray, wash panel good before you spray
Exactly what I was going to say. Sean Ryder works there and set me up with everything I needed to color my interior of the Estate Wagon. Perfect match, I might add... Give Sean a call.
Haven't got the panels yet. Should be this week coming. Sean Ryder is hooking me up with the correct paint, probably at the Kemperle store you recommended. I need better front speakers. The two 3 1/2" speakers I have up in the stock location just ain't cutting it. Radio or no radio, when you get on this thing, you are gonna hear it.
Looks great Larry, nice match! I give up...what's that on the floor? Nitrous...switch pitch...line lock...fog lights? What IS that????
