I've been offered TEN GRAND for my Wildcat in it's present condition.
What do you think, should I take the money and run? :Do No:

How rare is it? If it's just another wildcat (yea yea, I know, that's blasphemy), I'd take the offer. If you've put more than that into it already, I probably wouldn't.

    Well, that license plate should be a clue how rare it is but for those of you not familiar with it, here's the background on it;

I am probably into it for only about half of what I was offered, however I could easily spend twice that much on a full resto.

If ya really dont need the money, then keep it. You'll never get another one like it and ten grand will get spent eventually. This should motivate you to spend even more quality time in the garage making her shine....she's worth it.

    Keep the cat:beer

That car would be hard to replace. If you are burned out on Buicks or need cash, that is a different story. But, like Nick said, the 10 grand will be gone soon and the car with it.

    Tough Decision!

Robert, if you have a place to keep it, hang on to that. Its got to be the coolest cat as ordered that I know of. (define cool:Black w/White interior; Dual quads, a/c, pw...)

Of course when it comes to restoring it, you will find all estimates of resto/paint/interior cost will have to be increased by a lot.

We need a registry of dual quad cars!

Due to the rarity, I would not part with it unless you don't want to mess with it. Being documented, it is even rarer than you think! It's doubtful you will ever come across another like it! Brian

    Hi Robert,
I am not too familiar with Wildcats, but my thinking is that if someone just came up and offered you 10 grand for your car then they know it is worth more, or has the potential to be worth a lot more.
I would keep it if you don't need the money. Just my opinion.
    Adam.

    Jim,
Haven't really made a decision yet. I'm still on medical leave from my knee surgery and won't get cleared to return to work untill next month. The jobs over in the sandbox might not still be available by then. I'm supposed to check back in with the recruiter once I have my medical clearance.

That offer of 10K is not just for the car, it includes most all of the extra stuff that I've accumulated for it. I don't exactly need the money but I could find a use for it. It would sure help this one get finished.

    Tough choice Robert!!

An SS Chevelle BBC convertible sure has the cool factor....especially in sunny SoCal!!:bglasses:

But....to sell off something more rare...and to the Buick community at least - even cooler.......that might seem crazy to some.:Do No:

Any sentimental attachment to the Chevy, to where you wouldn't want to finish that one and sell to complete the Wildcat?? Seems like you'd have no shortage of offers out there for the SS.....even in unfinished form.

You seem to really take to the big cars....I think it would be hard to part with that 'Cat!!:TU:

Your '65 is more of a keeper than that Chevelle. How much is the Chevelle worth as it sits? In the long run the Cat is the cooler car even though it is not a convertible.

hmmmmmm....... down payment for a house verses one cool cat... :dunno

As cool as that Chevelle is, it ain't "Fast With Class."

I say list that documented pussy on ebay with an exit clause and a 10K reserve. You can always think about it and all you might be out is 40 bucks...

    or

I will take you to my bank right now and issue you a check then list it myself ;)

I may have mispoke. What I meant to say is just dump the cat for what you have into it and finish the convertible. I can come pick up the Wildcat on Moday of next week, Thanks!:TU:

Robert remember how you felt when the Riv was sold. You dont want that feeling again.

I just spent $10k on a very nice master bath remodel. Does that help put it in perspective?

To sell a rare well optioned Buick like yours to fix a chebby that is a dime a dozen would be inexcusable to me.

That 'cat is is definitely a keeper. I had to build the Riv I wanted because I know could never find a fully optioned '66 DQ w/ A/C and black deluxe bucket interior all original, numbers matching. Here you have the car many of us dream of and you want to sell it in order to fix a chivvy?

    Shame on you! :spank:

Let me add, I see 10 Chevelles a day here in LA. and 20 Mustangs. Converts not as many but, I have never seen a Wildcat like that. Next year that Buick turns 40. Ten more and it's antique. I got news for you, that Cat with a little cleaning and maybe a nice paint job in a few years will be worth alot more than 10k. If you sell her now, you will regret it. If you needed cash for an operation or a kid to go to school, then I'd understand. If the rent is paid and there's food in the fridge then all selling it now would be is stepping over dollars to pick up dimes.

Antique is 50 years? I thought it was 25. And isn't a car a classic after 15 years? Always wondered that, everybody has a different opinion.:Do No:
