Sell or Loan me your TA Stage 1 Aluminum Heads

My build with TSP is being held up by back ordered TA Stage 1 Aluminum Heads. They won't be delivered till later this year. So, if you have a set, bare or assembled, that you are saving for a build later, I'd like to buy them now and pay you back when TA starts delivering them.

One benefit for you is that the new ones can be the "Sleeper version" which adds the scalloped cutouts to show block numbers between cylinders 1-3 and 3-5. Can anyone work with me on this?

hey Ray, I had ask Mike in BG that I needed a pair and he told me that he should be getting them in by the end of the month. Wonder if I need to put my order in now and get in line for the next batch.

If I can find another pair of Stage2 heads,I will sell my Stage1 aluminums. SE or TE.

 

Ya, that was the word that was coming out, but I don't think anyone noticed that their back orders exceeded their number of castings.. and the foundry will not promise them anything before October.. So I was told that there would be no availability until the end of the year, or next year.

 

I just got off the horn with TA getting in line for a set of Stage 2 TE heads - word is all castings are out. All.

First batch that came back recently were ‘bad’ and had to be sent back. Currently taking back orders but months is the lead time.. get inline now for a fall/winter arrival

 

Thanks for the update Andrew, that was info that was not relayed to me.. they many have uncovered an issue with the whole run of heads, after I spoke with them early last week.

I'm sure TA is just as, if not more frustrated than everyone.

 

Must be they sold out of the pallet of 350 heads they had. I think it was 48 sets? Which begs the question... who bought all those and how fast are they going??

 

Yeah, I’m sure there’s plenty of frustration to go around - a bummer, but it is what it is and life goes on.

The story I was told is during lock down everybody was working on their car and all of the supply was bought up. I guess backfill was slow (I was told ‘nobody was at work’) to keep the shelves stocked. We’ve just hit that catch up point now.

I called just a few months ago, maybe March, and reportedly they had 6 sets of stg 2 TEs on the shelf. Didn’t bother pulling the trigger then because I’m still a ways out. Just jumped in line for the next batch today.

 

I put a used set of eliminator heads on the last few weeks and worth the wait it put the woke up in wake up big difference from cast heads

 

I spoke to them last week and they said the 350 castings were waiting for machine work... Sounded like they had plenty.

 

I talked to Tim not that long ago & he said they still had castings but the machining was the issue so even if they did sell out, they're not all out there.

 

Mike can't get a good dependable machinist,....he's been looking for 2 yrs now

 

Actually I confused threads. I've been reading another thread about Mark waiting for his set of 350 heads and this one too.

 

I have secured a pair of TA SE heads so, problem solved. Thanks for all the offers of help.

 

I think they only sold about 20 sets of 350 heads. And yes there are none currently available as they need to be machined.

 

Just to clarify, my initial post and this thread is about 455 heads.
