Last night I went to a local cruise night where a board member's restored 70 GSX (gsxray) was picked as the "car of the night". They pick a car every cruise night and describe everything done to the car, its history, etc. Anyway, as the MC was describing the car, he pointed out how rare the car is, even compared to the GS model. He then went on to say (paraphrased), "As more and more of these GSXs are 'discovered', people are realizing they are really better than all those Chevelles and Cutlasses out there". Keep in mind this cruise night had probably 5-7 Buicks TOTAL, with the vast majority of the cars being Chevy, Ford and Olds. I had a big smile on my face when I heard that. My best friend who was standing next to me has a 71 Cutlass, which made it even better! Another (small) Buick victory :beer
Its always nice to hear the more and more people are appreciating Buick for what they really are. Ray deserves the honor of being picked as his GSX is a beautiful piece of machinery. :TU:
Thanks for the mention of my GSX William. It was nice too see a buick recognized for sure. So many people compliment me on my car just because it is "different" in a sea of chevelles and other more "popular" brands of cars. The screaming saturn yellow paint doesnt hurt either! :beer
