Well.... There arent any. and its a convertible, and i'd like to put a set in, as nice as no belts is.... I'm 18, and, sh!t happens, I'd like to see 19! So what would I have to go about doing to install seatbelts in this sweet old ragtop? Were they ever an option? or am i gonna have to fab up everything?

    Thanks!:beer

    Hi Carky,
Hit the boneyard and try to find the correct color, all full size Buicks 63-64 will be the same. You can unbolt them and then drill out in your car where they should mount, you probably will have to fabricate or buy a big washer to go under the body where the bolts would go through and mount. Seat belts in those years were optional and a good thing to have vs flying out of the car in a crash. Good safety.

Thanks! Is there a company that repros/sells the belts?

And ya.... rather not fly thru the wind shield....

    Thanks!

I just mean that convertibles are so inherently dangerous anyway that it is best to avoid collisions versus protecting yourself from them.

Your car has the mounting places built in. All cars manufactured after Jan 1, 1964 had belts as standard equipment, however they could be deleted for credit. Beginning in 63, the cars had the mounting holes already in the pans. The holes were filled with a rubber plug. Most all Gm would be the same, except that each division had their own logo on the buckle. Pull up the rear carpet and you should find the mounts there. Actually, you could probably use any GM belt up to about 70.
