I have a question about seat belts for my 1963 Wildcat. I have a set of NOS buckle ends the chrome split-top with the tri-shield which Im having re-webbed at SSnake-Oyl to match my black interior. I also have the correct male belts to go with them, but I only had the metal parts: tongue, adjustment piece and floor anchors. They dont have the actual webbing.

Long story short, I need to know how long the male belts should be. Also, since the male ends I bought have the rectangular adjustment piece, the measurement should take this into account. Thanks.

  2. Steve,

I have belts I can measure, but they are the cheaper variety with the plastic flip. I also do not have the adjustment piece.

I'll keep an eye on this thread, but just reply if you are out of time and any measurement would be better than no measurement.

    Good luck with your cat!

    Thank you, Joe.

Since I'm still having problems getting the length, could you measure yours? I really appreciate it.

  4. No problem. I will try to get them measured up tomorrow night. I am booked solid tonight.

  5. Short belt appears to be 20 inches webbing U-turn to webbing U-turn at each buckle. Once the webbing goes through the buckle, it appears to be a 2 1/4 overlap.

The large belt appears to be 33 1/4 from the floor end to the buckle; the other side of the belt sticking out the other end measures 4 1/4, so I would figure total belt lenght end to end excluding overlap to be around 38 inches. Your mileage may vary. This seat belt is date coded 66.
