Silly I know but I was wondering if a 70 - 72 skylark that has buckets in it would be able to be replaced with a bench seat. Does it bolt right in? I would think that it does but need to double check thanks Todd.

You need to change the tracks.

Thanks for answering Jim. I dont understand changeing the tracks that you said. I have a front bench for sale and have someone interested in it but their car has buckets and he wants a bench so he can fit more people in it.

So what he asked me if a bench would fit in there. My guess is yes but have never dealt with buckets. Wouldnt the bolt holes be the same from the factory and if he pulled out the buckets the bench would bolt right in right, or do I have it all wrong.

Also the title isnt supposed to have "the" in the title I dont know what I was thinking.

Not easy as a bench had threaded inserts in the floor to accept all four corners of the seat. Some people would just drill holes and put a bolt with a nut but this is not safe and is real Mickey Mouse as well. Talk him out of it as bucket cars are more rare.

floor mounting is completely different for buckets which used three studs and a bolt on each set. Bench used four bolts. Maybe Jims idea on changing tracks would work but have I never have tried.
