Who supplies the best bucket seat foam for the 70 GS cars?
Is the foam the same in a Buick as a Chevelle of the same year?

Thorntons offers them too. Made by the original GM supplier. Avail in no slot, half slot, and full slot.
Wish I had known about these before I bought the PUI foams.... those are so firm my head nearly touches the headliner.

This is the one I used and the one I believe Duane recommends.

There will be some trimming and cutting for the listings but it's all we've got to choose from in terms of aftermarket.

Both my seats have them and it's nice to not be practically sitting on the floor.

New springs are available from Legendary as well. I replaced just the bottoms.

True, and would also need to be moved to the Interior City section:

Used the ACI on mine and it is perfect, but still needs the listing wire slot cut at the top of the seat back foam. Reused my Legendary covers because they are so awesome!

Just for the record I never liked any of the reproduction seat foams. I always repaired the original foam cushions rather then buying new.

However, that was years ago and I understand guys needing to replace the foams due to aging etc.

I am sure guys here can attest to the quality of what is on the market today.

In my honest opinion, Go American Cushion Industries...
There are a number of good reputable upholsterer/craftsmen out there that know how to install these correctly. Just do your homework to find those who are in the know.

Thanks guys. I have bought my Chevelle parts from Hinshaw's Chevelle for years and he is a dealer for the ACI brand, I'll get them from him.

Let us know how you make out. If you get sticker shock on the ACI's give Thorntons a call. At $180 a pair, they're a bargain compared to the ACI's @ $300. I'll likely pay them a visit when I do my next '66 seats.... the original foam is turning into dust!
If you don't know who the Thornton's are, they are one of the top suppliers and restorers of Olds products.... such as their repo W-30 hoods.. Maybe you've seen their cars at the high-end auctions. Top quality all the way.

I am familiar with Thornton, they did the white car that went through Kissimmee in January. I wonder how they can sell the so much cheaper than everyone else.
