When recovering 1970 GS front buckets, do you have to remove the seat back from the base or can you install the covers without taking the seat apart? I've already removed the plastic backs etc.. Thanks
They do need to be apart, also, the new cover may need some steam to get it to stretch a bit to get a nice fit, I paid to have mine installed by a pro, cost me 125.00 for all the seats, well worth it.....the steam helps the new covers expand some so they go on better, without the steam.....you may tear the cover trying to get it on, someone may have a way they know of to make it easy, I tried the powder and all but it just wasn't working.
Thanks George...I read that and went out and started working on them. I felt pretty good about it as I did the back seat top and bottom and it came out great...but about an hour into it I realized that they put at least 400 hog rings on each seat ou:so I took James's advice and took it to an interior shop, the guy is highly recommended and only wanted $150..He has the seats now.. Thanks guys
You're right. The car had an entire white Chevelle interior. Even when it was nice it wasn't near as nice as the Buick interior.
