I'm an eighth grade science teacher and have been asked to develop hands on lesson plans about polymers. I feel I have a good activitiy in mind but I could use your help to give it the extra final touch. I would like to show the effects of heat on polymers. I was wondering if any of you have digital video of your cars doing burn outs and then launching. The video will be displayed on a web page designed for teachers interested in polymers. If you have a video please e-mail it to me and I will use it in the lesson to illustrate how the tire's physical properties change as it gets warm. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Dave... Hope this helps. Turn the volume up really lous when you play the video:grin: http://www.adam-martin.org/greg.mpa I hope this works....It doesn't want to pop up on my machine right now. I know it's there, I jsut uploaded it to the site. It's 7.8mb. I think you have to right click on the link and hit Save As... THen it will copy over to your computer.
Thanks Adam That video scared me to death! It took forever to load so I jumped back to V8 Buick to read other threads. I forgot about it and it automatically began playing once it loaded the speakers were turned up a notch too high. I stood up and stared at the computer not sure what to do. Thanks so much for your response, Its perfect
I picked that clip off this board a few months ago when I was still "wet behind the ears" Scared the crap ouit of me when I first played it too!
Who and What? Adam, That clip is pretty impressive. Who is it and what is the car and engine in it? Royden
No idea... I am assuming it's an Olds 455 in there. I was trying to find the original thread I found it on, but to no avail.o No:
It's Greg Godons car. There are lot's of discussions about it at realoldspower.com, just search for the name.
Its actually a 385ci small block....albeit Nascar stuff, but when was the last time you saw a naturally aspirated small block do a wheelie like that? The wheelie video was taken during a wheelie contest they participated in. Like Shaggy said, go over to www.realoldspower.com and look for Rocket Scientist (Greg Godon) email him if you need any help. He's very helpful and always answers his emails. Ante
