a guy contacted me on some stuff i was selling on ebay and preesed the buy now button on it well. he got into the scam that was talked about in previouse scams here well the check realy came and he wants me to ship the stuff out i called the police already and they are coming over to get it and all email transactions with them so i'll see where it goes Greg :shock:
Following up with the police is great. But I'd still get a big 'ole pile of manure and ship that off to him.
You can also contact the secret service in DC. The fax number is 202-406-5031. I asssume he paid more than what the items sold for and wants you to do a Western Union wire transfer of the "excess" dollars? And I bet it is from Nigeria....
its from maryland and yes on both other acounts sent $4000 and to western union to texas the excess what a deal. wish i could cash it but i know better :spank: Greg
yeah thats the latest scam on ebay now. scammers will end your auction early with buy it now, and try to pay with bogus checks etc. they insist on sending extra funds and want the seller to wire the excess to somebody. its gotten real bad with vehicle sales. i will do almost anything to avoid listing a car on ebay because of NPB's, and i would never offer buy it now on a vehicle because of this. then theres also the buy it now bandits, who get a throw away I.D. only to buy 200 - 300 motorcycles, or boats, in four hours. depending on a few details, a car seller can easily be out $50.00 or more, and risks unfair neg fb due to the B.I.N. bandits. greg, so now they're doing it on parts too huh ? i think i am done offering bin. henry
I Have a fire truck for sale on a free ad board for fire equipment, I had someone contact me too. wanted to send over amount of funds , something about a different truck he was going to buy but deal went south, and he had refund check...... you know story, yada yada and wanted me to send difference. I wrote him and told him i would only take a bank certified check for exact amount and would only deal in person! i havent heard from them since.
police said they could do nothing, so i gave him a i am handing your check over to the fbi and they will deal with your scaming s--t and don't bother me again type of letter he sent me a very threatening letter stating that the fbi can not help what will happen to me know and that the letter better not have landed in fbi hand or a high force than the fbi will deal with me man this guy is out there.
