Those ratty (dirty) chrome wheels are finally going on the beast!!!!!!! No more cleaning my spokes. And NO they're not for sale. I'd end up buying them back at twice the price:laugh: I dropped all the wheels & tires off at hte tire dealer tonight, and I'll have them back on tomorrow night. Those chrome wheels are really dirty, but they have nice chrome. I have a full set plus a spare, and all the centercaps to go with them!

Thanks for lighting a fire under my @$$ Ted:grin: :beer

Good looking stuff, my plans are white letter 255 rear 235 front and a profile of 50/55 to get the car down a bit. I've got 235/70 on now, and I'd like it to squat a bit more, and the white letters should add another 10 mph in top speed and -1 mpg. First there'll have to be a real reason to swap, so by summer maybe if I'm cruel....

Why do they look so skinny?

I love the redlines! I have 235 70's all around on my Centurion and they look the same, picture must be deceiving. I would think 275 would be noticeably wider than a 235, can you post a picture that shows the increase in width from 235 to 275?

I've often wondered how much tire could be fit in there with the proper back spacing.

For my car I have to jack up the back of the car, set stands under the frame and lower the rear axle to change the tires. I couldn't fit much more without more backspacing. Do you know the backspacing on those rims? Are there 5x5 rims with different backspacing or are the all the same? I know some have a different shape for disc brakes but I thought the backspacing was all the same.

    Wheels

I bought a set of the 15 x 7 5X5 wheels that were for Riv GS's and some Wagons. I'm not sure of the backspacing but they fit great in back; they seem like they gained the depth in front- the originals look more "flat".
I'll get another pic later. :beer

Well, I did what I tell myself I shouldn't do...

Went to the new parts store and decided...well, if I've got my wheels off the car, I might as well -

Change the front rotors, bearings and pads, and put new shoes on the back.:Do No:

Now I'll be able to stop at the end of the track:laugh:

I got my wheels back today though! I just need to scrub the crap outta them, since the tire goons got their greasy mitts all over my wide whites.

I'm also interested to see how wide the 275's are....

Looks like about a half inch to the frame?

It looks a little closer because of the camera angle, its closer to 1" clear on both sides. An excellent fit in back. I need ot get the exhaust hooked up and the car off the lift to check front tire clearance when turning.

    redline wide track

wanted: help to dealers selling wide track redlines. Here is the hook, need in 14" wheels, have the super sport buick rims offered to gsx and gs in 71 and 73 parts books, and want the equal to the stock f70 14, so do I need a 235r70-14 or maybe even 245r60-14? not wanting series 78 have 455 and would like the traction and look of the wide track tire. Seen the 275 15 in above list and made me want , please anyone help?craig

Contact Diamond Back Classics tires, I think they can help with any tire size since they machine off the facing and vulcanize the stripe onto the tire.
