Hi, if it is a stocker my guess would be from idle to about 4500 rpm maybe, I am no expert but just a guess from when I had a totally stock 455 in my car. After thinking about it maybe 4500 a little low maybe 4800 would be closer, mine would turn higher but seemed to lay down after about 4800 rpm. I hope my rambling helped. Tom

It all depends what you do to the moter, a stock 455 is from idle to 4500 its max torque is at about 2500 rpm, but you can easly build a mild build up, and then it would be about 1500 to about 5500, some more $$$ 2500- 6000 rpm, more money 3000- 6500 rpm, BIG $$$$ 4500- 7000+ rpm. hope tihis helps Kelly

ya it did actually, but if its 4800 stock, will by adding the extra rpm's (say up to 5- or 6000) will that hurt the motor?? i mean i dont know im askin

well, one of my 455s was a bone stock 70 455 that i reringed and polished the crank, i installed a stage 1 cam, stage 1 fuel pump, and a stage 1 oil presure spring, the rest of the moter was bone stock. i drove that moter about another 70,000 miles and drove it hard, reved it to 5500+ alot. most of the time i shifted at about 5100. i never had enen problems with that moter, it just started to blow oil past the rings at high rpm. 6000 RPM range is wear you need to start doing more mods, like APR rod bolts.

    a 70 stock is 360 h/p , 500 ft /lbs torque, so i would say it was around 380 h/p.
