Heres my calculator that I made way back in 01 if anyone finds it useful. updated http://cyclone.he.net/~idea1/gearhead/
Thanks, Id like to see yours too. I almost added the GV overdrive unit today. Final drive is .78. but the GV also affects all of the other gears too when it is engaged.
i posted mine on here for d/l at the beginning of the year but its in a zip file in this thread so that the board will accept it for upload: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=121145 the owner of Buicks.net also has also posted a permanent link to the Excel file: http://www.teambuick.com/reference/Final_Drive_Calc.xls I almost added the GV overdrive unit today. i built mine more with circle track racing in mind so i'll never bother with that. for you, i think i'd recommend a toggle button for the GV. multiply your existing final drive ratio by the GV and you're good to go. probably ought to make that big and red when it's enabled so someone doesn't forget and leave it on. GV is just doing the one gear set, right?
Ok I updated the Calculator and added the GV feature.. Can someone check the math p lease. I think I got it right... the next feature is what rear end will it feel like when the GV is on. 4.11 may feel like 3.08 with the GV engaged.. I just used 22 percent reduction for the GV. Is that right? http://cyclone.he.net/cgi-bin/suid/~idea1/gearhead.cgi
Try it now. What isnt working.?? what do you get? It should work, it works for me, but I want to know if the math is right. I think it is. I added the GV overdrive feature.
Ok, it works for me, What happens when you click this link? DO you get an error message describe what exactly is displayed in the browser? http://cyclone.he.net/cgi-bin/suid/~idea1/gearhead.cgi Thanks.
All I'm getting is a chart page. Lists tire sizes in the upper left. Below it lists a TH350, it's gear ratio's and rpm #'s at various mph speeds. I can't click on anything or enter any numbers.
the bottom section where you would enter tire size, gear ratio and trans type is missing. hope you get it fixed.
Ok try it now please, I think I got it. It was an HTML issue. http://cyclone.he.net/cgi-bin/suid/~idea1/gearhead.cgi
