Re: Rookie w/ 69 Riviera / vacuum headlamp project that's weird. o No: usually, they either don't work at all (major leak, siezed 'can'), or slowly fall open after shutting the car off (slow leak). can you elaborate on the symptoms?
Thanks for asking Howrad, The RH side leaks down after shutting off the car. When I turn them off, the RH side come up first and the LH side sometimes needs a little time or a nudge. I did an experiment and put a manual shut off valve in line to the hose that splits and goes to the bottom of the cannisters and they do not leak off now. I just open the valve so they drop.
It is getting colder here in the mountains of Colorado so things are not working so great. LH side sticks up and down now. They did work better when it was warmer for sure. It will be one of those things that will be a PITA until more information comes in. I have thought about spraying some sort of lube in the cannisters to lube and seal them up. any ideas?
