I know this subject has been touched upon before, but I cant seem to find the thread. I was wondering if there was a cheaper alternative for roller lifters? Say running a Chevy with a different length pushrod. Im sure someone has experimented with this. Any help would be appreciated.

you have to be careful when selecting just any roller lifter. Some are machined different and will bleed off your oil pressure. YOu have to pay attention to where the lifter is machined around the roller. If the cutout for the roller is radiused up toward the oil groove it can cause a leak when the cam reaches full lift. Also pay attention to what size oil feed it has going to the pushrods. It needs to be restricted also to keep too much oil from going to the top of your motor. This will help keep more oil in the pan.
