how do the TA forged rods for the 350 work? I was wondering how much power they can take. Just wonding if they would be good instead of buying custom rods you guys have been talking about for $1100...thanks

To the best of my knowledge, nobody has 'forged' 350 rods yet! They would have to be custom built. Crower does TA's 455 rods, so they would be a good choice to check on.

Also, check out http://www.pauter.com/Billet_Rods.htm - Pauter Machine gave me some prices on doing Buick 350 billet rods.

    1 set $1400.00
    3-8 sets, $1296.00 each
9 or more sets, $1066.00 each

If we got a 'group purchase' going, with enough orders, we should ge able to get these under $1000.

One of these days...it WILL happen!!

    TA...

well i'm looking through my T/A performance catalog and the web site and they offer TA Forged Aluminum Rods for the buick 350. THey are $895 so still not cheap but not $1200 or $1100 either. now they do offer TA 4340 Billet Steel Rods for the 455 only but they have forged rods now...I was just wondering how strong they are. Thanks

    Forgot about the aluminum rods.:Dou:

I was referring to the billet steel for a 350. Everyone I've ever heard of that had the billet 455 rods, was very happy with them. Generally, the block would give way before the billet rods.
