Does anyone have the torque specification for cap screw rod bolts on Cunningham connecting rods for the 455? Appreciate any guidance given.

    Thanks,
    George

You are obviously using an aftermarket rod here as no 455's ever used cap screw rod bolts. Need to know whose rods you have. Jim Burek

    Jim,
they are Cunningham brand billet steel rods manufactured in California. 12 point capscrews and the caps are doweled bolt holes configuration. I have read of this brand of connecting rod in KenneBell literature about ten years ago.

    Thanks,

Your best bet would be to contact the manufacturer of those rods. If they have 7/16 bolts, they could be anywhere from 64 ft/lbs to 79 ft/lbs. Jim Burek

    Thanks Jim and David.
I went to the website and sent them an email asking for the info.
I described the rods incorrectly as they are forged steel units according to my Dad.

    Thank you,
    George
