rocker arm plugs

    went top buy some rocker arm plugs(retainers) today.my old ones are round white plastic pieces so i decided to replace them but the ones the part house had were square but they looked like they would work.......any input on this?

    I don't have any first hand experience with these,however I have heard that some guys are using these and don't have any problems.

    I am tearing down a 455 right now. It has '70 heads on a '71 block. Obviously since some parts are mis-matched, gaskets aren't 34 years old etc. I believe it has been rebuilt at some point.

    Oddly enough, the right side head has round plugs in the rocker shafts and the left side has square ones. Based upon that it appears that the two types are interchangeable.
