Rochester Carb

    Hey all got the numbers off my carb and they state

    17057274
    0607ARN

    are these the correct numbers that i need to find parts and a HOW TO FIX type book????

    170 = post 1976 qjet
    57 = 1977 model year
    2 = 49 state carb (non-CA)
    7 = Pontiac
    4 = Automatic transmission



    What motor is this carb off of?

    It was included with my buick 350 was trying to figure out if it would work with it or not and it needs to be rebuilt...

    Ed, are you sure you got that number right? It looks like:


    1967 AIR carb from a Buick with an automatic transmission.

    numbers are correct

    I was told it was a 4 spd carb but it looks like an auto. It is a 67. Thanks Adam:TU:

    any idea where I could get some information on how to rebuild this carb and where I could get parts for it???

    You're on the right track in staying with the Q-jet!

    Get a copy of Doug Roe's book "Rochester Carburetors" by HP books, available at most chain bookstores. Single best source of info there is. Also, do a couple of searches on this board, there's a lot of good info, links, etc to be found. (I just checked, and searching based on "tuning (q-jet OR quadrajet)" yielded 226 threads.)

    Rebuild kits are available through most any parts store, use the carb number to order, A kit for my '71 Q-jet is $19.99 at NAPA, and $13.99 at O'Reilleys, where I picked up a brass float for $5. :Brow:
